34 news; United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has announced in a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan that the organisation supports the construction of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan railway.
The press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan announced in a newsletter that the Secretary General of the United Nations supports the implementation of the project of the construction of the Termez, Mazar-e-Sharif, Kabul, and Peshawar railways.
In the newsletter, it is said that Vladimir Norov, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, and Antonio Guterres had a bilateral discussion in this regard at the United Nations headquarter in New York.
It is worth mentioning that a tripartite agreement between Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan was made to start the practical work of this project in Tashkent in 2021.
This project costs 5 billion dollars, which will extend to Mazar-e-Sharif, then Kabul, and finally to Peshawar.
