The Taliban wanted to expand more relations with Saudi Arabia
Abdulsalam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the Taliban’s ministry, in a meeting with Ibrahim Majul al-Otaibi, the deputy of the Saudi Arabian embassy in Kabul, has called for the development of more friendly relations with this country.
The Department of Taliban Affairs has said that in this meeting, views were exchanged on the historical relations between the two countries, and Abdul Salam Hanafi expressed his gratitude for the assistance of Saudi Arabia in the past to advance the Jihad in Afghanistan. According to the official announcement of the Taliban, in this meeting, in addition to discussing the strength of bilateral cooperation, there was also an exchange of views on the transfer of Afghan pilgrims and providing more facilities during the stay of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. After the Taliban took over Afghanistan on August 15 last year and expanded their cooperation with Iran, the relations between the Taliban and Saudi Arabia have turned cold.
